1 Who we are
RetailPulse is a retail intelligence platform built and operated by RetailPulse (Pty) Ltd. Our registered website is www.retailpulse.co.za. For any privacy-related queries, contact us at hello@retailpulse.co.za.
2 What data we collect
Information you provide directly
When you submit a demo request or contact form, we collect your name, company name, email address and phone number. When you register for a RetailPulse account, we also collect a password (stored securely, never in plain text).
Technical information
When you visit our website, our server logs your IP address and browser type for security and fraud prevention purposes. This data is not used for tracking or profiling and is not shared with any third party. IP addresses are retained for a maximum of 90 days.
Retail data (platform customers only)
If you are a RetailPulse platform customer, we process your retail data (sales, stock, store information) on your behalf as a data processor. This data is completely isolated in your own dedicated environment and is never accessed by RetailPulse staff except where you have explicitly requested technical support.
3 How we use your data
To respond to your enquiry — when you submit a demo request we use your contact details to follow up.
To provide the platform — account credentials are used to authenticate you and give you access to your RetailPulse dashboard.
For security — IP addresses are logged to detect and prevent fraudulent or abusive access attempts.
To improve our service — we use anonymised, aggregated usage patterns to understand which features are most valuable. No individual is ever identified in this analysis.
4 What we do not do
We do not sell your personal data to any third party, ever.
We do not use third-party advertising networks or tracking pixels on this website.
We do not share your retail data with other RetailPulse customers or any other organisation.
We do not send unsolicited marketing emails. You will only hear from us if you contacted us first.

8 Data retention
We retain personal data only for as long as necessary for the purpose it was collected. Demo request data is retained for 12 months. Account data is retained for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days after termination, after which it is permanently deleted. Security logs including IP addresses are retained for 90 days.

10 Changes to this policy
